Hi! I’m Ellen

I am a self-driven individual passionate about clear communication and a recent graduate of UMKC with a dual major in biology and communication studies (emphasis in journalism and mass communications). I am striving for a career in writing and editing about science. With my S.T.E.M. major as a strong foundation, I hope to explain the wonders and importance of science so that all may understand. On top of freelancing part-time work, I create blogs on the side and am always looking for more writing opportunities.

Outside of work, I enjoy nature. If it’s an outdoor activity, I am in. My favorite pastimes are hiking, foraging (working on getting some pics up!), and kayaking. As an avid reader, my favorite genres are dystopian novels and nonfiction.

I am a lifelong learner and am currently studying German while trying to maintain a garden.
